From Generation to Generation: A Legacy of Wine, Expansion, and Internationalization

Our company was originally founded as a wine commission by my grandfather, after whom I am named, in 1924 (†1961).

During his time, he established relationships with wine and sparkling wine cellars, as Elbling was particularly sought after as a base wine for sparkling wine in the years between the World Wars.

My father (†2020) continued the business from 1960 onwards. During this time, many wine cellars grew into large-scale operations to meet the demands of the expanding trade. The company grew alongside the vineyard area on the Moselle. To accommodate this growth structurally, two pressing stations were established and operated until the 1990s.

In the third generation, I took over our family business in 2011. With many years of international expertise—including 12 years as operations manager at a wine and sparkling wine cellar in Luxembourg and 10 years as chief oenologist and wine buyer at Henkell & Co.—I was able to further modernize and internationalize our small family business, initially together with my father.

Today, I also serve as a representative of the Federal Association of German Wine Cellars (Bundesverband der Weinkellereien e.V.) in the CEEV in Brussels. Additionally, I am well-connected on all key issues at the EU level and with representatives from all major wine regions in Europe and worldwide.
